2012 Conference Transportation Information

Airfare Discount from American Airlines:

American Airlines is offering a 5% discount (off base fare, before taxes) on flights to San Diego from June 16 – 27, 2012. The CALI discount code is 2162ET. When making your reservation at www.aa.com enter this code in the Promotion Code field (this will be an instant purchase transaction). To make your reservation by phone call 1-800-433-1790 and give the reservationist the same Promotion Code (there is a $25 fee for phone reservations).

Shuttle from the airport to the hotels:
A number of shuttle companies run from the San Diego International Airport to the hotels. Details can be found on the airport's transportation page. SuperShuttle also runs in San Diego, the rate is about $8 each way for shared van service.

Walking from the hotels to Thomas Jefferson School of Law:
It is about a 10 minute walk from the Marriott Gaslamp Quarter Hotel to the law school. The walk from the Indigo Hotel is less than 5 minutes.

There is no Saturday Bus from the conference site to the San Diego Airport:
Since the airport is close to the law school and hotels and departure times are likely to vary, individuals are making their own transportation arrangements to the airport. A cab ride to the airport during non-rush hours on Saturday is between 20-30 minutes.

Parking:
Parking is available in the Padres Parkade about 1 block from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. The Parkade is at the corner of North 11th Avenue and J Street, with the entrance on 11th Avenue. Since this ramp is owned by the Padres rates vary on game days.

On Thursday, June 21 (no game today): The rates are $1/hour until 6:00 p.m. plus an additional $3 if parking past 6:00 p.m.

On Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23 (evening games on both days):  The rates are $1/hour, but all cars must exit at 5:00. Cars remaining after 5:00 may be towed. Cars will be allowed to return after 5:00 for a $15 parking fee.
