Beyond the basics, what do you want WordPress to do for you? Our panel will discuss strategies and favorite tools for customizing your WordPress installation. We will include tips for managing WordPress installations and customizing the back end as well as the front end appearance and functionality of WordPress sites.

Presenters:

Emily Barney is Library Web Technologist at Chicago-Kent and has been using WordPress for a variety of library and faculty projects for years and is very excited to take full advantage of the upgraded features on the new library servers.

Andrew Plumb-Larrick  is the Associate Director for Public Services at Case Western Reserve's Judge Ben C. Green Law Library, where they recently transitioned to using WordPress as the library CMS.

Sam Levy is the Internet Applications Developer at Louisiana State University Law Center, where they have been hosting WordPress for student sites and using it to handle news and calendar events. They are moving towards using WordPress as their main CMS.

Jared Padgett is the Web Development & Digital Media manager at Pepperdine, where they have also been using WordPress as a CMS for specific sites and faculty and student blogs.

 

Audience:

This presentation is designed for those with some familiarity with WordPress who would like to hear more specific strategies for using it as a CMS.
