The Value-Added Repository: Enhancing Discoverability through Linked Data

Law libraries are continuously searching for new ways to add value to their organizations, and institutional repositories have long represented an avenue where such contributions can potentially take place. The application of semantic web technologies to an institutional repository represents another step toward making the platform an active, discoverable research tool rather than a static silo of information.

What's up on the OASIS LegalCiteM TC

The OASIS Legal Citation Markup Technical Committee is a working group tasked with creating a markup standard for all legal citations.  This is an effort to work with all kinds of citations styles to facilitate machine readable links between documents in a standard format that all legal information suppliers, and all legal information programmers can use and understand.
In this session Mr. Joergensen will talk about the origins of the committee, what is going on in it, and why you should care.
