The Other Side of the Coin: Designing Meaningful Active Learning Exercises for your Classroom
So, you've flipped your class, now what? The magic in flipping a class isn't all in how the videos are created, what they look like, or where they're embedded. The value in a flipped classroom comes from the time saved by moving lectures outside of the in-person time. But how can we take full advantage of this "extra" time in the classroom? This engaging, hands-on presentation will cover the following:
- Understanding why we flip a classroom in the first place, the benefits of active and experiential learning
- Learn how to create successful learning objectives and outcomes
- Understand how to center activities around your created objectives and outcomes
- Creating assessment measures to ensure your students get the feedback and ratings they need to learn
