Educators who may be disenchanted with PowerPoint should rejoice as there are numerous, exciting alternative presentation applications to explore! This session will give educators opportunities to learn about and view demonstrations of lesser-known presentation applications, use of which may lead to more attractive and interesting presentations. Although PowerPoint has dominated the field of digital presentations since it was introduced in 1990, it has notable deficiencies in its styles, animations, and motion control, whereas the alternative presentation programs that will be highlighted offer cutting edge graphics, drawing capabilities, animations, and imagery. These features will assist educators to make snazzy, eye-catching presentations and thereby increase the engagement of their audiences. As an additional incentive to explore these alternative digital presentation applications, many of the programs are free! Furthermore, the session appeals to both Mac and Windows users as it will include demonstrations of software for both platforms. Come and explore with me!
