Taking Technology from Emerging to Engaging: Practical Strategies

Speaker(s):

This session will discuss innovative ideas that have been used by law schools to introduce new technologies to their communities to help them become literate in today's web driven world. In presenting these ideas, we will also be discussing various new and emerging applications and technologies for legal education, and the application of some commonly used technologies to law school and information literacy education. Finally, we will present a template for designing your own programs for increasing awareness of information literacy within the context of information technology and the law. The goal of this session is to provide practical takeaways -- ideas you can implement, and a method for creating new ideas to implement. We hope that attendees will leave feeling empowered to teach information literacy skills and new technologies to their communities, and we believe the takeaways may be relevant for many organizations, including but not limited to schools and libraries.
