Evolving Legal Education to Encompass Entrepreneurship

The session will discuss Brooklyn Law School's new Center for Urban Business Entrepreneurship (CUBE) and its work in fostering collaboration between legal entrepreneurs, law students and legal educators. It will also focus on challenges and opportunities changing legal education and the practice of law, new issues facing the legal system, and how the future of law and legal practice might look.

There will be demonstrations of forward-looking legal products and services exemplifying the new face of law practice. With a law librarian and technology educator moderating the session, Brooklyn Law School law professors and the law student winner of the first CUBE Innovators Competition will participate by video conference from the United Kingdom and California. The session will explore the exciting evolution of the first Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy (BLIP) Clinic Legal Hackathon reported on at the 2012 CALI Conference into its current status as part of the law school's infrastructure, CUBE.
