Classcaster Beyond Podcasting

Every semester dozens of law school faculty and librarians use Classcaster for podacasting and blogging. This session will go over the latest updates to Classcaster as provided by new Wordpress 3.8 platform. Elmer will demonstrate some of the plugins that faculty can use to enrich their classes and how to build Classcaster sites for specific uses beyond just podcasting and blogging. Some of the examples will include:

• Provide virtual office hours with live chat
• Create a virtual refernce desk with live chat
• Give students space to submit work files
• Create quizzes in Classcaster
• Assemble a "living" syllabus of assignments that appear on given dates and times
• Podcasting with a phone

Session attendees will take away a better understanding of some the great things that Classcaster can do.
