Infusing Music into Legal Research Instruction– Keeping Law Students Interested
For those legal research instructors who have ever looked out across a sea of zombie-like law students who think legal research is about as exciting as reading Black’s Law Dictionary cover-to-cover, this session is for you. Law librarians Andrew Evans and Brent Johnson will spend an hour giving examples and providing suggestions on how the use of music in classroom instruction can liven-up otherwise stale material and create a lively environment that fosters student interest and interaction. Audience members are encouraged to bring their suggestions and ideas to infuse music into their teaching material. While this presentation is focused on legal research instruction, the strategies discussed can be easily adopted for any substantive law class as well. So, come join the fun — dancing shoes are optional!
