Linux is not just for geeks anymore!

This session will give managers and non-Linux geeks an overview of how good this free software is and introduce the best support community available to help along the way.

Whether setting up servers on a cloud or dedicated hardware, you need an operating system and some way to administer the server. Ubuntu is now the most popular distribution of Linux and has matured to the point that it ready for any purpose. While you can use the desktop version of Ubuntu as a server, this session will concentrate on the server version with administration via the Webmin control panel. No command line syntax to learn and no wondering if your parameters will produce the desired results. Every aspect of the server can be handled via a web browser at absolute no cost for the software. The session will wrap up with a quick introduction to the range of applications freely available and easily installed, including utilities, security, development and content management systems.
